AUG should always be treat by a dentist but you may want to seek advice from your GP first as your denist apointment could be awhile away this would be a good idea as your GP can perscribe you medication that should make you feel a little more comfortable.
The first form of medication for gum disease treatment are Antibiotic’s such as Amoxicillin this is because gum disease is cause by bacteria buliding up in the gums and Antibiotics willl kill some of the bacteria they will not cure your disease but they will stop it advancing aany further which makes them the prefered choice of gum disease treament for GP’s.
Another Gum disease treatment your GP could off are Painkillers the most common of which are Paracetamol an ibuprofen both are available over the counter and may help you with the pain you are in.
